Handwound Pickups - Overview

Genesis Rewound – Schecter pickups from the mid 70’s and early 80’s have become sought after by players worldwide. In 2013, we return to our roots with a complete line of custom pickups. These pickups come standard on all USA Production guitars and are a featured option on our Masterworks line.

The listing below represents our efforts to make the finest pickups available, meticulously hand wound in our Sun Valley facility. The Schecter team continues to work diligently on expanding our pickup line to give our customers even more sonic options.“

Schecter Pickups are available as standard equipment on Schecter USA Production and Masterworks Instruments. At the present time, they are not available for purchase as replacement or aftermarket upgrades, but we do plan to offer our full line as well as other upgrade items in 2014.

HUMBUCKER

SuperRock™

The SuperRock™ Humbucker defines the look and sound of Schecter custom-shop instruments for the last two decades. Big and open sounding, these hums deliver unique tone that is both musical and articulate. Notes even in the most complex chords ring true clean or distorted. Tapped tone emulates the sought after single-coil ‘bite’, without being harsh.

SuperRock™ Vintage

The classic look and sound of those much sought after ‘80s Schecters, immortalized in The Who’s Eminence Front video. Big and open sounding, with a clarity and crispness, lost on some humbuckers.

The ‘tapped’ position has a great ‘jangle’ while still retaining body and depth. Voiced Neck version for the ultimate matched set.

Z-Plus™

A redesign of Schecter’s infamous supercharged humbucker, the new Z-Plus™ is as lethal as it looks and drives the front end of your amp into smooth musical distortion, while maintaining clarity and focus.

4 Conductor wiring gives you a wide array of tonal options and as its predecessor, conjures some great tapped tones. A toned-down neck version is voiced to clean up nicely and is extremely responsive as you roll your volume back.

Pasadena™

The first Sun Valley Designed Schecter pickup...the Pasadena™ is voiced in the tonal and output realm of a PAF but with just a little more ‘push’. The Alnico-5 yields EQ balance, but with a slight upper-mid musical bump with just enough output to drive the front end of your amp. Think the “brown sound” of the great rock band that hails from this pickups’ namesake!

Agile and hostile... the Sunset Strip™ delivers a barely street legal mixture of power, sustain and gain. The ceramic magnet provides increased tonal dynamics and natural compression... cutting through any mix. The four conductor wiring gives you a wide array of tonal options. Great in conjunction with Pasadena™ Classic neck.

San Andreas™

Loud and Proud. The new San Andreas™ is off the Richter scale! Over wound with a unique tri-field design, this humbucker is loud with an unmistakable full range tone. The Ceramic-8 magnets add the top end cut to balance the San Andreas™’ massive low end. This pickup looks as dangerous as it sounds, borrowing the big 1/4 poles from the early Schecter pickups, while combining with the traditional bobbin design. This pickup is anything but traditional! A slightly tamer matching neck pickup is also available ... but it too is not meant for the faint hearted.

MonsterTone™

Originally dubbed the F500T, this revolutionary design was the first ‘dual sound’ single-coil made. This true single coil optimizes the classic Schecter tone, popularized by Mark Knopfler.

Pasadena™ Vintage

A classic ‘California voiced’ single coil with just a little more. The Alnico-V magnets and the flat pattern yield an extremely balanced response with all the shimmer and chime you want. Mixes extremely well with the Pasadena™ humbucker in a HSS configuration. The RWRP middle pickup adds true hum-cancelling in the 2 & 4 positions.

The SuperRock™ Seven expands the range of the definitive Schecter custom-shop pickup for today’s new player. Clean and clear when you need it, or push it hard for a punishing attack. Retains bottom end to deliver unique tone that is both musical and articulate. 4-conductor wiring allows you to tap the coils for even more tonal options.

Pasadena™ Seven

Full and round, with enough gain to push your amp into smooth overdrive, yet articulate and fluid for much more than metal. This Alnico-5 wound 4-conductor humbucker is extremely versatile in a matched set, and the Pasadena neck version is a perfect foil when mixed with the Sunset or San Andreas Seven.

San Andreas™ Seven

Designed for total sonic destruction, the tri-fold ceramic magnet design, wound to allow your low 'B' to shake the very ground you are standing on with attack and gain, while still retaining clarity and definition usually only available with an active pickup. A slight upper-mid boost will help you cut thru the densest mix.

A San Andreas™ Eight is in the works and will be available by late summer.
