Schecter Mourns the loss of Mitch Lucker... RIP
Sad news coming out of Orange County.
Mitch Lucker, vocalist of Riverside-based metal band Suicide Silence, passed away after suffering a motorcycle accident last night. He was 28.
As the Press-Enterprise detailed:
Coroner’s officials said Lucker was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday. Huntington Beach police were investigating the crash and expected to release details Thursday morning.
Suicide Silence has become one of the leading bands of the genre at the moment, touring the world and playing Warped Tour for the past few years, amassing a huge global audience.
Their most recent album was 2011's The Black Crown.
Last night, Lucker posted a picture of him dressed up in what looks like Dia De Los Muertos makeup with the caption "the dead are living..." on his Twitter page. This serves as his final Tweet, given the circumstances.
Lucker's passing is a big loss to the metal community, not to mention his family and young daughter.
